Cheshire Wildlife Watcher's Diary
This calendar/diary allows you to keep track of dates and events just like an ordinary calendar. Where it is different is that is not based on any specific year and therefore can be used in any year and start in any month. The pages can be used (along with tear-off recording cards at the base of each month) to record your wildlife sightings (in your garden or elsewhere) and then they can be sent back to rECOrd to allow the data to be included within the LRC database.
An excellent gift; the pages are illustrated with drawings to help you with identification of certain groups and on the rear of each page is a distibution map and information about the species illustrated on the page front.
Cost: £6.50 plus £1.50 post and packing - (Total: £8).

Atlas of the Amphibians of Cheshire & Wirral - by: Jonathan Guest and Andy Harmer
A comprehensive coverage of the amphibians and their records for the Cheshire region (the old county of Cheshire (pre 1974 boundary changes) and the new areas making up the northern parts of the Unitary Authorities of Halton and Warrington) - this matches the coverage of rECOrd. Distribution maps are provided but so is much more information on the distribution, habitats used, the relationship between amphibians and fish, and the legal protection afforded to species. An excellent read and a mine of information on this group of vertebrates.
Cost: £9.95 plus £2.60 post and packing - (Total: £12.55).

If anyone has records for any organism (plant or animal, macro or micro) in the Cheshire region then we would be grateful if you could make contact and allow us to include your data within the database. Even if you don't have any records but have a degree of experience, and often it doesn't need to be a lot, with any of the groups, once again we would be pleased to have you make contact.
