BRINGING GEOLOGY TO LIFE IN HALTON

RECORD’s Project Linking Biodiversity with Geodiversity

Bringing Geology to Life in Halton is an investigation into the links between biodiversity and geodiversity in the borough of Halton. The main aims of the project are to draw on the findings of Natural England, and the specific biodiversity expertise of RECORD and combine these with local geological knowledge in order to present a picture of the natural history of Halton, both geological and biological, in a form easily accessible to the general public. The project will focus mainly on specific sites and will include audits of the geology and biodiversity and trail leaflets, interpretation boards and website material showing how these are linked. The output of the project as a whole will eventually inform an updated Local Geodiversity Action Plan (LGAP) for Halton.
