RECORD and Codes of Conduct |
| HOME | The Countryside Code | Code of Conduct for Insect Collecting |
RECORD recognises that biodiversity/natural-history recording can occasionally come into conflict with other areas, be they other interest groups (e.g. narrow-boating), with land-ownership issues (e.g. access to sites), or with conservation aspects (e.g. collecting insects for identification purposes). Recording should always be undertaken with a mind to safety, lawfulness and respect for others.
These potential conflict areas are hardly new and most have been around for many years. In fact most of them have already been addressed via published leaflets providing 'Codes of Conduct' to either avoid such conflicts of interest or to assist in simplifying the issues where and when they occur.
