Cheshire Species Checklists

One of RECORD’s aims is to provide lists of species in specific taxon groups (e.g. butterflies, or ground beetles) which have been recorded within the county/region. These are provided to assist recorders in understanding what they are likely to find within Cheshire and also to highlight when something new is found. In this way recorders can be guided to ensure that they are aware of new species and can take the relevant steps to double check such records and to retain either voucher specimens, photographs or both.

Checklists of taxonomic groups to be found within the Cheshire region are provided here so that you can check your findings. From these lists you will be able to see whether the species you have found is new to Cheshire, and therefore whether there is a need for you to retain a specimen or some other form of corroboration of your find.
