Work-based Learning |
As part of the volunteer programme each year RECORD enlists help from Chester University students. RECORD are fortunate enough to have students choose to spend their work placement time with us. Typically placements last five weeks and are, for us, ideal for project based tasks.
As we are such a small team we benefit greatly with this influx of expert help. It enables us to branch out and develop different areas of our business and to fill gaps in staff expertise.
We’ve had IT students come in and develop an admin database that will improve the level of service we are able to provide our partners whilst others have developed our output system in order for us to develop client specific reporting. In 2009 we were joined by two experienced programmers, who helped build our data portal. We also had the opportunity available for an event management student, to help plan some of the Count Me In! events. We have also been joined by journalism students who have laboured tirelessly on our public profile in order to communicate our message more effectively.
We hope to continue and improve our fruitful partnership with the University of Chester into the future.
