In 2015, RECORD teamed up with the Saltscape Project with the shared aim of increasing the collective understanding of wildlife within the Saltscape Project area (an area of Central Cheshire extending along the River Weaver from Frodsham to the salt towns of Northwich, Winsford and Middlewich).

RECORD analysed the data held for the Saltscape area to identify key locations and species for which more information was needed. After analysis, a number of wildlife identification days were delivered.

A total of three wildlife identification events were run during 2015 covering reptiles, aculeate Hymenoptera (bees, wasps and ants), butterflies and riparian mammals. During 2016 a fourth event took place covering dragonfly and damselfly identification as well as three recording days for locations where up-to date wildlife records were needed.
