JOIN IN WITH THE WIRRAL BARN OWL GROUP SPONSORED WALK

Earlier this year, thanks to Jo Hanik of the Wirral Ranger Service and the efforts of a just a few people, the Wirral Barn Owl Group managed to raise £1,015.00 from a sponsored walk along the Wirral Way from Hooton to West Kirby. Jo has kindly offered to organise a similar event on Sunday 11th January 2004. Only a handful of members took part last time so we want to get more of you involved and to raise even more money this time around!

Walkers will meet at the car park of Hooton Railway Station at 10.00am where they will be met by the organisers. The walk will then begin, with resting points along the way if required - it's not a race! Jo Hanik will give a strolling local and natural history commentary along the way! The route is mostly flat and would be suitable for wheelchairs, with occasional assistance. The walk will conclude opposite West Kirby Concourse, where transport back home or to Hooton will be available for those who require it. I dare say a drop of something restorative may be available too, perhaps across the road in the 'White Lion'?

If you are unable to take part in the walk yourself, please join in by getting sponsors for the Treasurer, Steve Jackson, who is taking part. This is a great opportunity to raise funds and it is a really enjoyable day out so please take part in any way you can. Go on, please, put it in your diary now!
