Starting Out With Orchards Workshops
Sunday 8th January and Sunday 15th January 2006
10am-4pm at Norton Priory Walled Garden
Pruning for Beginners Workshops
Sunday 22nd January and Sunday 29th January 2006
Sunday 5th February and Sunday 12th February 2006
Topics covered included varieties of fruit; rootstocks and their influence
on tree size; fruit tree planting; watering; pruning; organic pest and disease
control; and harvesting and storing fruit.
The day consisted of a classroom session followed by a practical look at
the aspects of orchard and fruit tree management in the Walled Garden orchard
including the opportunity to have a go at some pruning.
Places cost £20.
