CURRENT STATUS

This is a long, elongated, dull metallic, green beetle with extraordinary expansion of the hind legs in the male. The larvae develop in dead wood.

There are recent records for the south running valleys in the western part of the North York Moors. Old records exist from Gloucestershire and Norfolk.

It is provisionally Red Data Book Category 2. It is listed in the RDB as Category 3.
